Adam Authier — Asheville Relocation Specialist, Real Estate Broker, Home Restoration Pro.
Adam Authier is a home renovation contractor, Asheville-area real estate broker, and content producer based in Asheville, North Carolina. He helps people relocating to Western North Carolina find homes, and he creates the film, video, and marketing content that tells Asheville's story to the rest of the country.
If you're moving to Asheville, buying a fixer-upper or a luxury home, or trying to understand what this region actually looks like before you commit to it, this is the short version of who I am and how I can help.
Helping People Relocate to Asheville, NC
Asheville draws a steady stream of out-of-state buyers — retirees, remote workers, and families looking for mountain towns with real culture — and most of them are working from outdated information or generic listing photos. I built the Asheville Relocation Hub specifically to close that gap: honest, current, on-the-ground content about neighborhoods, cost of living, rebuilding progress, and what day-to-day life in Asheville is actually like, made for people who haven't been here yet.
On the transaction side, I work in real estate with Lusso Realty, which means relocation buyers get someone who can speak to a property from both the listing sheet and the studs — because I'm also the person who might be the one restoring it or remodeling it.
Home Rehab & Restoration in Western North Carolina
Through Ridge Line Builds LLC, I run a carpentry and contracting business focused on renovation, rehab, and restoration work across Western North Carolina — from historic Asheville homes that need careful, structurally sound updates to storm-damaged and fixer-upper properties bought specifically to be brought back to life. For relocating buyers, this matters more than it does almost anywhere else: a lot of the housing stock people fall in love with here is older, storm-affected, or in need of real rehab before it's livable, sellable, or rentable. I bridge that gap — sourcing materials, managing the buildout, and giving buyers a realistic read on what a property will actually take to restore, before they're locked into a purchase. This inside how-to knowledge helps me to negotiate the best possible price for a buyer.
Content, Film & Marketing
Storytelling is the thread that runs underneath everything else I do. Every home has a story to tell, some are brand new to the world and it’s family, some carry ages of memories within the walls.
I'm co-creator and producer of the independent feature film Regarding the Beauregards, made from development through the realities of financing, casting, and getting a feature actually made. I bring that same production discipline to marketing: as Volunteer Marketing Director for the Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce, I create the content and campaigns that help a rebuilding community tell its story, and I apply the same skill set to real estate and relocation content, home renovation documentation, and brand storytelling for local businesses.
That combination is unusual on purpose. Most contractors don't produce film. Most producers don't swing a hammer. I do both, plus the real estate and marketing to connect them — which means I can take a renovation project, a relocation story, or a local brand from raw material to a finished, well-told result.
Background
Before Asheville, I spent over 30 years in hospitality across Los Angeles and beyond, including co-founding Yoga Lab (a wellness café) and running Botanical Saloon. That work taught me how to build spaces people want to be in and how to run projects with a lot of moving parts — the same skills that now show up in home rehab projects, film production, and marketing campaigns alike.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Asheville, NC a good place to relocate to? Asheville is one of the most in-demand relocation destinations in the Southeast, known for its mountain setting, food and arts culture, and small-city scale. It also has real considerations — older housing stock, pockets still recovering from storm damage, and neighborhoods that vary widely in character — which is exactly what the Asheville Relocation Hub and my real estate work are built to help buyers navigate honestly.
Who can help me find and restore a home in the Asheville area? I work both sides of that problem: as a real estate broker helping buyers find the right property, and as the owner of Ridge Line Builds LLC, a contracting company that handles the rehab and restoration once it's under contract.
Does I work with out-of-state or relocating buyers specifically? Yes. The Asheville Relocation Hub was created specifically for people moving to Asheville from out of state, and my real estate and contracting work regularly involves buyers purchasing properties sight-unseen or from a distance.
What is Regarding the Beauregards? Regarding the Beauregards is an independent feature film co-created and produced by Adam Authier through Regarding the Beauregards LLC, reflecting his broader work in content production and storytelling. The ultimate goal is to bring back industry and creative works to WNC.
Does I offer marketing or content services beyond real estate? Yes. I produce content, video, and marketing campaigns for local organizations and businesses, including my volunteer role as Marketing Director for the Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce, and I apply the same production background from his film work to brand and marketing projects including real estate.
If you're relocating to Asheville, evaluating a home that needs work, or looking for someone who can produce content and tell your story well, I'd like to hear from you.
